This waterfall is open to visitors from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a 50 rupee entry fee.
If you are planning to visit during the monsoon, then keep in mind that due to landslides, you will need to take a jeep for 2-3km, which you will get in forest check post, and that will cost 650 rupees for one jeep.
How to reach Soormane Falls
Kalasa is the nearest small town to this waterfall, which is 5 km away from Soormane. To reach the falls, you have to first come to Kalasa.
If you are coming from Bangalore, drive towards Chikmagalur and then take the route to Kalasa via Mudigere and Kottigehara. Soormane waterfalls will be around 289 km from Bangalore and 63 km from Chikmagalur.
From Mangalore, drive towards Kalasa via Kudremukh and Samse, Which is 121 km from Mangalore.
After reaching Kalasa, drive towards Soormane Falls, and then after 3 km, you will find a forest check post from where you will get a ticket or a jeep for waterfalls.
From there, you can go by your own vehicle, rent a jeep, or go trekking. If you are planning to go during the post-monsoon season, it will be best to go by your own vehicle. If you are going in the monsoon then do trekking or take a rented jeep.
By vehicle: Taking your own vehicle or rented jeep will be a good option. You will save time and also enjoy the off-road adventure.
Vehicles will not go up to the waterfalls. You must park your vehicle 500 meters away from the waterfalls and then trek the last 500 meters to reach the waterfalls, which takes about 5 to 10 minutes and includes crossing a stream and walking through dense forest.
By Trekking: This is an adventurous and time-consuming option. It is a 2 to 3-km trek which passes through the coffee estates.

There is no shop available here, so keep food items with you.
The roads leading to the waterfalls get damaged in the rain, and you will not be allowed to take your vehicle. You will have to hire a jeep or trek.
During the monsoon, you will find leeches around. To keep them away, try to use Dettol. Apply a little Dettol on your feet and shoes, which will help prevent leeches from sticking to you.
