Best time to visit Rani Jhari Edge Point

If I talk about the best time to visit Rani Jhari, you can go there throughout the year in any season. In every season, you will get to see different types of beautiful views. But if you want to see actually how beautiful Rani Jhari is, then you can go there between November to May and feel this view completely.

Here, you will get to see the mountains covered in a blanket of clouds. You can experience this type of beautiful view at all times.

If you are an adventure seeker, then you will also love to visit during monsoons. You will get to see waterfalls on mountains all around, and you will get this view only during monsoons.

You cannot go directly to Rani Jhari Edge Point from whichever vehicle you are coming. You have to park your vehicle at a distance of 1 km from the viewpoint. Now, you will have three options to go to Rani Jhari Edge Point from there: Trekking, rent a Pickup or a 4×4 jeep, and bike.

By Trekking: The distance from the vehicle parking to the viewpoint will be less than 1km. rani jhari trek will be very easy and fun, too. It will be a straight route that will pass through dense forest, and the route will be filled with mist. These views will keep you connected to nature.

By pickup or 4×4 jeep: If you don’t do trekking, then the other option is to rent a Pickup or 4×4 jeep. There are some vehicles which take you to the viewpoint. This option will save time and you can also enjoy some off-road adventure.

By bike: If you are a biker and you want to go to Rani Jhari Edge Point by bike then it is possible. You can reach the viewpoint by bike, and it will be a lot of fun.

Tips for travellers

• There will be no shop available at Rani Jhari Edge Point, but there will be some canteens on the way to it. You can carry some eatables from there.
• The road near Rani Jhari is quite rough for a few kilometers, so drive carefully.
• If you are travelling with family or planning to visit during rain, then you should rent a pickup or a 4×4 jeep as the roads become very slippery and trekking becomes difficult.
• If you want to go to Rani Jhari viewpoint by 4×4 vehicle, they will ask a lot of fares. It is just 1 km away so don’t pay too much fare. Try to negotiate a little. Don’t pay more than 50-100rs per person, or if you want to take a full jeep, then 400rs and 500rs will be enough.
• Do not throw plastic, bottles, and garbage. If you have garbage, take it with you and throw it in the dustbin. Try to keep nature clean.

This waterfall is situated on the private property. To reach here, one has to do a trekking of 500 meters.

Kelagur tea estate and factory

Kelagur tea estate is a hidden gem, and not many tourists know about this tea garden. It is a very beautiful tea estate where you can get Munnar vibes in Chikmagalur. It is known for its rolling hills and quality tea production. It is located 12 km from Rani Jhari.

You can also visit the factory and get information by watching the production of tea.

Ballalarayana Durga Fort

This is a famous adventure trekking spot. This is a fort situated on top of a mountain, which can be reached only by trekking for 3 to 4 km. Its trekking start point is just 200 meters away from Rani Jhari viewpoint.

Bandaje Falls

Also known as Arabi Falls. This is also a famous adventure trekking spot. It comes after Ballayana Durga Fort. This waterfall can be reached by trekking approximately 8 km.

The views from here are very beautiful, there are mountains all around and water flows in between them and drops down from the mountain. Its trekking start point is just 200 meters away from Rani Jhari viewpoint.
