It is a beautiful and famous tea estate in Chikmagalur. It is located near Samse, Kalasa village of Mudigere taluk, which is 94 km away from Chikmagalur.

The estate is known for its rolling hills, lush green landscapes, pleasant weather, beautiful scenery all around, and, of course, high-quality, delicious tea production.

Visitors can see the tea-making process closely. You can walk through the tea plantations and watch the workers pluck the tea leaves. You can also visit the factory where you can see how the tea leaves turn into tea. This experience will be a wonderful one for you.

Apart from this, there is a Ganesh temple in this Tea estate, which makes it even more beautiful.

Also, the estate is surrounded by wildlife, and there is a chance to spot some animals like elephants, gaur, and some small animals can spot here.

If you are someone who loves nature, tea gardens and quires watching the tea production process, Then Samse Tea Estate can be a perfect destination for you. Best time to visit Samse Estate

Although this tea estate can be visited throughout the year, you will get to see beautiful views and the tea production process, and you can also visit Ganesh Temple.

However, the best time to visit Samse estate is the post-monsoon season from October to March. During this time, you will see greenery all around, rolling hills full of tea plantations, pleasant weather, and heart-warming scenery. This time will enhance your experience.

Visiting this tea estate during the monsoon season can be a good option. But due to heavy rains during this time, exploring it will be a bit adventurous and challenging.

Samse tea estate timings and entry fee

The estate is open for 24 hours but 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM is the best time to explore the tea estate, samse. And there is no entry fee required to visit it.

How to reach Samse Tea Estate

There are three options to reach the tea estate, Samse.

By road

Kalasa is the nearest town to this tea estate, which is 8.2 km away. It is situated in a village named Samse on the way to Kudremukh from Kalasa.

If you are coming from Bangalore, drive towards Chikmagalur via NH75 and then take the route to Kalasa. This tea estate will be around 316 km from Bangalore and 94 km from Chikmagalur.

From Mangalore, drive towards Kalasa via NH 169. It is situated on this route, which you will come across before Kalasa, which is 109 km from Mangalore.

By train

Mangaluru Junction is the nearest railway station to this tea estate, which is 111 km away. To reach Tea Estate Samse, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Kalasa.

By air

Mangaluru (International airport) and Shimoga (domestic airport) are the nearest airports to this tea estate, which is 109 km away from Mangaluru and 124 km from Shimoga. From there, To reach Tea Estate Samse, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Kalasa.

Elaneeru Falls is located near Kalasa in the Chikmagalur district. This is a hidden gem that most tourists don’t know about. This waterfall is tucked away in the dense forest about 10 km from Kalasa.

Elaneeru means tender coconut in the local language, Kannada. It is not just worth seeing but also has a unique ambiance, with lush green tall trees all around, a cool breeze, and foggy vibes. To reach the waterfalls, one has to do a short trek that involves crossing streams and is full of adventure.

This waterfall is a great destination for picnics, photography, nature lovers, and waterfalls seekers.

Hanging bridge

The hanging bridge is located near Kalasa, which is 2.6 km away and 11 km from Tea Estate. It is a beautiful hanging bridge that connects two villages. It is surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of the Bhadra River flowing can be heard. It is a perfect place for nature lovers and for photography.

Soormane falls

Soormane Falls is a beautiful Waterfalls located near Kalasa, 5 km away and 13 km from Samse Tea estate. It is the famous waterfalls of Kalasa which is surrounded by lush greenery and coffee plantations. It is known for its beautiful view.

The waterfalls cascade from a height of 40 feet and form a pool below in which visitors can swim and enjoy. Also to reach the falls one will have to do a short trek which is full of adventure including crossing a stream. If you are planning to visit the Kalasa side, then this is a must-visit place for you.

Kyatanamakki hills

Kyatanamakki is an amazing hill station located near Horanadu, 9 km away from Horanadu and 23 km from Tea Estate.

Kyatanamakki is a peaceful escape from the city’s mess; this hill is known for its stunning viewpoints and peaceful environment.
